Having been on the scene since 1988, the New Balance 574 is starting to head towards middle age. How do you cope with the realisation you're not as young as you once were? Thankfully we aren't here talking about a Harley Davidson 574, instead we have the '574 Legacy'.Almost every element of the everyman's New Balance has been tweaked to create a wholly new model. At a glance it's any 574, but once you drill into the details you'll spot the tweaks. The toe has a small underlay accent, something you've seen on other models but not the 574. The midsole is a touch thicker, closer to what the OG's originally had – the ENCAP cushioning also has an exaggerated shape which pairs with the oversized heel counter. Even the outsole has been tweaked!This pair is finished in the same wine burgundy colourway that launched the 574 some 30-odd years ago. A fitting tribute to an unpretentious icon.
