Originally dubbed 'Style 36' the Vans Old Skool has enjoyed success in the last 5 years thanks to its adoption by the fashion crowd. This model has always lived somewhat in the shadow of styles like the Era, Authentic and SK8-Hi but it has always deserved better. More substantial and sneaker-like than the boat shoe classics, the Old Skool enjoyed success with skaters a little later in the late-80s and early-90s.This version comes with what Vans call their 'Stressed' finish – essentially a distressed effect that's similar to what we saw on the Bianca Chandôn collaboration. Vans always look better with some wear but it's a fine line between character and all-out cooked. This finish takes the guesswork out of the equation.
